The starting of 2013 shows a huge increase in the releases of the films, this weekend too will not be different. As many as three films are confirmed for tomorrow. Shutter from Joy Mathew, 10.30 AM Local Call from Manu Sudhakaran and David & Goliath from Rajeev Nath.
All of them are distinct with its uniqueness. Shutter already raised it bars when it received rave reviews during the IFFK. The film is a satire about Indian labourers in the Gulf and is set within two days and a night in the city of Kozhikode. The film portrays unexpected incidents happening in two days and a night in the city of Kozhikode. The story centres around the mess created by three men — a Gulf Malayali, a film director and an auto driver — after they meet a strange woman in bizarre circumstance. The film is a moral suspense thriller and according to the director it is “poetical violence on celluloid”. The film has Lal, Sreenivasan, Vinay Forrt, Sajitha Madathil and Riya Saira in important roles. The first timer Joy Mathew himself penned the story too. Music from Shahabaz Amam, while Hari Nair wield the camera for Shutter. Saritha Ann Thomas will produce Shutter in the banner of Abra Films.
Next Up is 10.30 AM Local Call directed by Manu Sudhakar tells the story of the married life of Alby and Ann, and how their life changes with the introduction of a third person. Tuted to be an edge to seat thriller film has Nishan, Mridula Murali, Kailash, Sritha Sivadas along with Lal, Krishna, Anoop Chandran, Manraj, P K Nair, and Jennifer in the lead. First timer Arun Lal is the man behind the story. The songs from Gopi Sunder is already a hit. Cinematography is by Krish Kaimal. Priya Pillai produces the film under the banner of Priyalakshmi Media.
And we have David & Goliath which is directed by national award winner Rajeev Nath. Once again an action thriller, has the most successful combo Anoop Menon and Jayasurya in the lead. Anoop Menon himself helm the writing department. The film is based on the bible story of David and Goliath is about how the meek and innocent David kills the philistine giant Goliaththrough a slingshot in the battle of Philistine and Israel. The movie is a modern interpretation of the story. Film stars, Jayasurya , Anoop Menon, Soumya, Anumol, Indrans, P. Balachandran, Lena Abhilash as Jaynamma, Sukumari, Master Dhananjay and Baby Minsara. The hit songs are form Ratheesh Veega and Jithu Damodar is the man behind the cinematography. Sudeep Karat and Arun MC will produce the film under the banner of Sal Roza Motion Pictures Pvt Ltd & Line Of Colors.
