History of St.Antony’s church Perambra starts from the year 1820. Initially the church was under the Chalakudy parish. In 1832, it was became an independent parish. At that time the geographical boundaries of parish were: on western side upto Parekkattukara, North-West upto Kolathoor, North-East upto Vellikulam and East upto Mettipadam. Now Perambra parish includes 1000 families.[divider]
വടക്ക് – അഴകം റോഡ്, തെക്ക് – അപ്പോളോ ടയേഴ്സ് സൌത്ത് ഗേറ്റ്, പടിഞ്ഞാറ് – പുത്തുക്കാവ് ഭഗവതി ക്ഷേത്രം, കിഴക്ക്- കനാല് എന്നിങ്ങനെയാണ് പേരാമ്പ്ര പള്ളി പരിധി. വിശുദ്ധ അന്തോണീസിന്റെ പേരിലുള്ള ഈ പള്ളി കൊടകര പരിസരത്തെ എല്ലാ പള്ളികളുടേയും മാതാവാണ്. ചാലക്കുടി സെന്റ് മേരീസ് പള്ളിക്കു കീഴില് എ.ഡി. 1830 ല് ഒരു കപ്പേളയായി തുടങ്ങിയ പള്ളി 1832 ല് കൊച്ചി മഹാരാജാവിന്റേയും വരാപ്പുഴ മെത്രാന്റേയും അനുമതിയോടെ നിര്മ്മാണം ആരംഭിച്ചു. കടുക്കാവെള്ളം, പഞ്ചിപ്പശ, കുന്നിക്കുരു പശ , കുമ്മായം , വെട്ടുകല്ല് മുതലായവയാണ് ദേവാലയനിര്മ്മണത്തിനു ഉപയോഗിച്ചിരുന്നതെത്രെ. ഇപ്പോൾ ആ പഴയ ദേവാലയതിണ്ടേ സ്ഥാനത്ത് പുതിയ പള്ളി പണികഴിപ്പിച്ചു.[divider]
